School Visits
Welcome to AHMA Schools Project
Background
Altrincham and Hale Muslim Association (AHMA) has been working closely with local schools for over 20 years, building strong partnerships through a team of experienced volunteers. Our volunteers not only support local schools but also provide national training and guidance to other mosques and community groups to help establish similar school engagement initiatives.
About the Project
AHMA Schools Project is designed to support primary and secondary schools in teaching the Islam component of the Religious Studies curriculum. It offers both mosque visits and school-based sessions to make learning more engaging and to foster understanding, respect, and dialogue by addressing common misconceptions about Islam.
What we offer
The programme includes age-appropriate workshops using tailored resource packs, covering topics from the basics of Islam to more advanced GCSE content. AHMA volunteers also contribute to school assemblies and RS lessons and support schools with wider themes such as diversity, inclusion, and community cohesion.
